I own the Spemdor s3/5s as well as the Harbeth C7s (not the the latest es3 version).
The Harbeth would seem to meet the description of giving you a bigger sound with more bass and a bit "crisper" on top.
(I recently listened to the new $2K Martin Logans which provided much of the impressive 'stat sound, but instruments and voices just didn't sound as real to me, at least in the dealer's room, as the Harbeths.)
