Trying to get my new subwoofer set correctly and have become confused. I have a Parasound amp with both LFE and 300Hz options and a Dayton sub with both a gain knob and a frequency knob going from 40Hz to 180Hz.
The Parasound manual suggest setting the amplifier to LFE and the frequency on the sub to the highest setting (180Hz) to avoid double filtering. Or they say to set the amp to 300Hz if I want the crossover in the sub to do the filtering but they claim the amp LFE will be more accurate? The Dayton manual suggests setting the frequency knob between 60-80Hz.
Where should I start?
