I've used RTV silicone to make all sorts of speaker repairs. Did you know you can thin it? Yes, squeeze an ample amount into a clean non porous container and then add a splash or two of Lacquer thinner. You have to stir and stir and stir until it mixes, but you can end up with a mixture as thin as you want. I've mixed it very thin so that I could dispense the mixture from a disposable hobby syringe. Pin point application with a lesser chance of making a mess.
