Hello.
I've read several internet topics already, but they all tell me something different, so I hope there's someone out here who has experience and who will be able to give me a correct answer.
I've bought the Logitech Z5500 speakers today. The sound was good, though the rear channels don't work properly, they play way too soft. I have this problem every time I connect 5.1 speakers to my pc, so I know for sure it's not the speakers that don't work well. I think my Realtek HD 5.1 soundcard is the problem. I connect these speakers using an analog connection: three jacks for six speakers.
My question is, will the rear channels or al the speakers have better quality when I connect them with an Optical Cable to my pc? What's tge difference between the two connections - analog or digital?
I understand the Logitech z5500 has an "amazing, georgous, superb..." quality, but to be honest, I don't think the sound is really fantastic, even though I'm not used to expensive speakers. Is that because my soundcard is bad, or because I'm using the analog connection?
Can anyone tell me how I can get the best out of my speakers using my computer? Please try and propose cheap solutions, because I've just spent 300 euros, and I don't want to spend another 300. :D
Vincent
