Kidding... couldn't resist.

Seriously, you might want to look at some of the 12" 2-or-3-way PA speakers from E-V, Yamaha, QSC, JBL, etc. that are designed to resist weather issues. There are some very nice compact units available these days.

Also, being in the Houston area, you should be cognizant of the damaging effect of humidity on "furniture" type cabinets. You probably already know that. :)
