To me it means that they are:
A) Reasonably priced, offering good sound quality for the money
B) Easy to drive with reasonably priced amplification (no vicious impedance dips combined with reactive phase angles)
C) Capable of sounding good in a normally furnished room, without extensive acoustic treatment
