Silverline Audio La Folia II Impedance Correction Network

Hi folks.

For those who may be interested, I have developed a notch filter to correct the impedance curve of this fantastic speakers. These is intended for amplifiers not friendly with reactive loads. This is tested for several months in my system, and it works flawlessly.

First, the original impedance curve of the speakers has a peak over 23ohm at 4KHz. I have developed an external RLC network that tamed this peak to 6,5ohm. My goal is to keep the impedance curve as flat as possible. This will be beneficial for some amplifiers, other simply donĀ“t care and will have no impact in sound at all.

To develop the RLC network with the same quality as the filter inside the speakers, use the following: 6,8 ohm cement 10W resistor, SCR PP 10uF 400V capacitor and 0.15mH air core inductor.

Attached is the picture with the result.

Enjoy.
