Re: NHT 1.5's or SuperTwos for music?

12.5.51.246

I went into a store to audition the 1.5s and wound up thinking the Super Twos sounded better. The 1.5s use a metal dome tweeter, the Super Twos use a soft dome. The highs from the Super Twos struck me as very clean but without the metallic aftertaste that you sometimes get with NHT's metal dome. The 1.5 is reportedly an outstanding imager -- if this parameter is very important to you, you should listen carefully, preferably at home, on familiar material. I just thought the Super Two was quite a fine value, and you won't need a sub for music or even HT, unless you are a bass fanatic. With the Super Two you just need to forget that it doesn't cost much etc. As a Super One owner, I think the Super Twos are really a lot better in the mids and treble, for some reason. I'd like to hear them with high end electronics etc. ' wouldn't be surprised if they kicked some high-priced butt!
