Profit margins?

65.24.150.249

One high-end store here recently quit selling Vandersteen. They claim they "just didn't sell." They are also dealers for Wilson, B&W, ProAc, ML, Thiel, NHT, Avalon and some others. I couldn't think of why they would stop selling Vandy's, but now wonder if it is because of the lower profit margins. I don't know.

Also, I have gone to another local dealer to listen to the heralded Revel Salons. While I thought the speakers are good, I didn't feel like they were 4 times (or even 2) the sound of my 3A sigs. And with my REL thrown in, the sound in my room compared to what I heard in their room was amazing. I felt that the Revels couldn't deliver any bass - and I'll blame that on the room. They were using tube amps (VAC), ML preamp/digital with Nordost cables.

The Revels have a unique look, but even there I can't decide if I like them. Don't get me wrong, they are good, but not THAT good...to justify the price. Maybe I'm crazy...but I tried to like them twice. Was it the room?
