Vandersteen Rebuttal To Stereophile

199.179.183.122

As if in cue, Richard Vandersteen's letter to Stereophile in the newest issue makes my point for me. Vanderst, unlike many manufacturers, actually owns, uses and knows the implications of some very expensive, very sophisticated measuring equipment. Again, unlike many loudmouth manufacturers, he backs up is points with solid measurements. RV actually sent in a frequency response curve and a MLSSA waterfall plot. In both cases, RV's results show how wrong Stereophile was and how good the new 2Ce Signatures really are. Stereophile did not contest.

My point? Again - most speaker specs are may not be taken as gospel. The lesson here is that if you move the measuring microphone, the specs change. Speaker specs are tricky. Stereophile didn't try to do something bad, they just screwed up. You just can't approach speaker specs with naive faith. It's not like measuring amplifiers.

I was right. I'm always right. Resistance is futile.
