I do not plan to change my bookshelves for other bookshelves, to me that would be redundant (and I'm keeping the 20's until they break). My next pair of speakers will be fullrange floor standers, and I'll be sure to check out makes and models written about within this forum. Perhaps active speakers are a little forward for some tastes, but I really think the Active/20's are neutral and very subtle in reproducing the nuances of music. Perhaps my next upgrade will be a Bel Canto DAC1, and wait until SACD proliferates. DVD players I guess make great transports due to lessened jitter in higher frequencies. The sale on Waveforms almost made me take the plunge, but having bought a Loewe Planus, nice audio cabinet, Pioneer DV-09 etc.etc.etc., I thought I should cool my pocketbook down some hehheh. Interesting conversation you and Mike had, I think I agree that components/speakers' attributes should be apparent within a few minutes of auditioning. Oh well...
