......room dependent.

We usually calculate this arithmetically after being given the exact room dimensions, along with some information as to room materials used, such as carpeting or wood flooring, drywall or plaster or wood-panelled walls, etc. etc. All of these materials affect room reflections, null points, bass reinforcement, etc. Every room is different.

There is a review-in-progress for the floorstanding NUX, as we speak, being done by a major e-zine, that should be published in January or February. We provided these very same calculations for the reviewer, and they proved to be helpful. Perhaps he will speak to these issues of room placement in his review.

All that being said, Diapason speakers are very easy to place to produce great sonics....as I'm fond of saying, "imaging is the EASIEST thing they do". All the models have *always* been imaging champs. The fine-tuning of setup, and placement, provides increased bass extension, transparency and "air" in a particular room.

As to your other post about comparing Diapason with Sonus Faber, all I will say is that *many* comparisons have been done in Europe and Asia, where the majority of sales have taken place over the last 12 years....and *many* of the individuals/dealers/distributors doing those A--B's have preferred Diapason. This is what has been reported to me by some dealers and distributors at C.E.S. and European shows. I asked, they spoke. Of course, Diapason doesn't make (at this time) a speaker costing $10K, or $12K, or $15K, so I'm not aware of comparisons with Sonus' top-of-the-line. The most "expensive" Diapason speaker, the Adamantes III, lists for $3599 here in the U.S.

I've not personally had the opportunity to do these comparisons, nor have I had the time. But I'll trust these individuals experiences. In addition, I owned a pair of Preludes (for about 4 years now), well before contemplating becoming the U.S. importer. BTW, Diapason has been in business a bit longer than Sonus....prior to my taking over as importer, little was done to promote the line here in the U.S., while Sonus' importer has done an excellent job. I'm trying to change that, slowly but surely.

Hope this post was helpful.
