Just because oppressed workers are not living in your town is no reason to ignore the moral aspects of decisions that pollute and oppress, just to make money.
I couldn't be proud of speakers that have that manufacturing . I'm just trying to have a little fun with music. Not worth it to me to squeeze some poor worker on the other side of the world who has to live with the pollution and dies an early death because of the lack of basic considerations for the worker. That stuff cost money, and they have more expendable people than money they care to spend.
Yes I know life is cheap in most places of the world. I don't want to be like that, my forefathers made the same decision long ago. I don't care to throw all that struggle to have a better life away, just because industry wants to lower manufacturing prices.
I also buy third world products, it's tough not to. But if I have a choice, I'll try to make an informed and moral buying decision. I can live without the absolute cheapest product ever made. Since audio is just for fun anyway, I'll spend a little more to support a better world.
