I prefer to sit up a bit in a much taller seat, just much more comfortable for me. SF recommends having the tweeter at ear level for smoother response.

Taking the time to find the correct rake angle for your room can lead to more cohesive frequency response and can possibly yield a favorable pitch too. Then again, it may not - you may not notice a difference in your room. Best way to know is to give it a go and see. If it does make a difference, and you like that difference, then you're set.
