To add my voice to the chorus, I've read that Magnepans require a high current amp. It isn't a matter of absolute watts, though, all other things being equal, high wattage amps will have higher current delivery. The key is to find someone who understands the engineering angle and can help you pick an amp. It doesn't have to be super expensive. One audio expert said the best possible cheap system you can put together is a pair of maggies and a good high-current receiver. Maybe that is something you could pick up on ebay, because there were some genuine high end receivers built back in the day by Yamaha, HK, and others. Your present amps might work so long as you are content with modest volume levels - again, its current, not watts.
