they were well engineered, and were flat w/ low coloration, but were "flat" sounding- not very revealing of dynamic nuances, and the soundstage was not very well defined. Surprising, really for the quality of drivers, etc., but that's how they sounded to me. I sold them pretty quickly. If the 980s are similar (and I think they should be) I think the Vandys would eat them for lunch.
