Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

The Bipolar aspect is VERY important...

Using the room to create deep bass was the art in this design.

Using a smaller woofer, with a BIG amp is the method used in the Mythos line... and it has it's own trade offs.

The Mythos is sensitive to amplification traits, and has a smaller radiating surface area for the midrange driver complement.

My impression; the BP2002 has tremendous dynamic range, little compression under higher SPL and reasonable (but not great) resolution.

The Mythos line has tremendous bass output, limited dynamic range and better resolution. They're good, but so are the speakers you own now.

I would recommend replacing the front tweeter in your BP2002 before doing anything else. The SEAS H1189 should make a positive difference.
