98db sensitivity.....Yep 1 or 2 watts can drive you out of the room

Your speakers are quite efficient (for speakers) and one or two watts can drive you out of the room, especially if mated with an amplifier of less than 1 volt input sensitivity. High efficiency in a speaker is neither a bad or good trait, per se, but your thread has been a good lession (and exercise) to the importance of "equipment matching". So, thank *you*.
