Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Let's be fair

Look, I subscribe fully to the school that one should/must have a *meaningful* (more than just a week or a weekend) audition of higher end speaker systems before committing to a final purchase. I would never do it any other way.

BUT the way I have done it and I think it is only fair to the manufacturer is that *you* agree to purchase the speakers (for whatever deal you can work out with the dealer) with the proviso that after 30 days (or whatever you both agree on as being meaningful)you can either send the speakers back for a complete refund or keep them.

This is why I give kudos to manufacturers such as Ohm Acoustics or Placette Audio that have such a policy as a key part of their marketing and customer service. But I'm sure that that you can find a dealer who will do something similar. Just ask.
