RE: 4 or 8 ohm for 6 ohm speaker

Try both & use whatever sounds best to you; no damage will occur from either. FYI, many 8-ohm labeled 2-ways have a 6-ohm impedance anyway. And the stated impedance is just a nominal or *average* across the full frequency bandwidth; individual frequencys will have impedances above & below that 6-ohm figure. That is why you trial to discover which to use for best sound; with a different amplifier, you may prefer a different connection.
