no box speaker i ewer heard get you near, the Soundlab A1/M1s are the closest, and if you can swing the U1 you are a bit closer. The A1s and the U1s do not have the bottom authority of a boesendorfer, they get close to a Steinway weight. Maybe a majestic, although i can not tell you for sure. The Magnepans do not quite have the speed, they are nice, but blurr the attack. Nothing will get you that enveloping resonant quality that you hear in a concert hall with a 10' grand on stage.
