I still love my Betas, they now are a part of my "bedroom" system. They still do everything well, they still sound best (to me) with tubes on the mid/tweeter panels.

But for the crazy good live-level tuneful bass serious spl live sound, nothing I've ever heard touches the Nearfield Acoustics Pipedreams.
I have a pair of Reference 18's and I can truly say that to my ears, it is the best I've heard.
