General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

RE: Set up and amp question for Maggie MMG.

Maggies love room to breath. My mg-12s sounded best when they were a good 3 feet from the wall. As for distance apart, I always start with the golden triangle (keep the distance between the listener and the speaker equal to the distance between the speakers) and adjust from there. It is a good starting point.

Toe in and the position of the tweeters is a matter of personal preference. The fun part about maggies is trying the different positions. I think I ran mine with the tweeters on the outside with a toe in of approx. 20 degrees.

The key to driving maggies is to have a stable amp because maggies can put alot of load on an amp. They say 4 ohms but some models dip down to 2 ohms. Tube amps tend to handle that well so I would have no concerns with what you are running.

Enjoy the maggies. Maggies have an incredible open soundstage.
