I listened to the Ascendents at an audio shop in Montreal about 6 months ago. I must say that I really enjoyed the sound of this speaker. If I had a room in my house that would do them justice I would have bought them. Bear in mind that the room they were in was huge and extremely well treated, but the imaging was truly holographic, and when driven with the right amp they sounded very smooth. I was very impressed with the speaker, although I am sure the room had much to do with the sound.

I can't tell you much about their performance with classical music because I only had jazz and acoustic available at the time. To my ears, the speakers strengths were a beautiful deep soundstage with glorious imaging, and very good rendition of acoustic instruments and voices.
