In my experience the people at GMA are very helpful and accommodating. Call or email them and inquire about the Hilton show. They might be willing to send out an audition pair too. Just be mindful of the break in issues if the pair is brand new. Out of the box they can sound bass light and tilted up in response but once broken in they are both musical and fairly neutral, very neutral for a $1K speaker. GMA would also offer good advice on how they will work with the room and equipment in question. Roy Johnson is scrupulously honest, if he thinks there might be a problem he'll say so.
I am a Magnepan fan too but I would worry more about about their structural integrity (relative to the Europas) in the conditions you describe. Intense UV light is definitely not good for the mylar.
