Had an acquaintance who built his own side rails for the panels and attached them rigidly to the ceiling. Speakers were vertical. the angle for the smaller (shorter) speakers are actually designed to aim the panel towards the listener. Hanging them would seem to place them more at actual listening height. You may want to invert the speakers, as the drivers are elevated slightly in their frames.
