Re: How long do speakers last?

Assuming they've been in a decent environment*, eight years is pretty much nothing for a good speaker. If the drivers have plastic foam-type surrounds you might be bumping into an issue somewhere around 20 years, but even those are replaceable and not terribly expensive.

(*environment takes in a wide range of factors. Cabinet condition, not sitting in the sun for extended periods or exposed to other hazards such as solvents, and no signs of having been over-driven would be among some things to consider.)

I don't follow the used market but if: 1) you like the way they sound, 2) they appear to be in good condition, 3) you have confidence in the seller, 4) the price appears reasonable for this make and model, then I'd say go for it.
