I believe those Spendors use Scanspeak's #2 tweeter (not their top). My guess is they are going for what they consider to be sonic truth rather than detail for detail's sake.Do a google or audioasylum search for Bob Neill's posts -- he has writeen extensively on Spendor vs. Harbeth, including the Monitor 30's.
I auditioned the Compact 7's which I did not like nearly as much as my Spendor SP1/2e's.
