No direct experience but based on what I've read, it probably depends. For example, in Listener magazine, Art Dudley reported trying Hovland Musicaps in an AudioNote Kit One and he felt the sound was better, but in a Spendor SP1/2, which has a pretty sophisticated crossover, he felt it made the sound more "hi-fi", i.e. worse. I know in some crossovers, the inherent resistance on the capacitor is used to tune the circuit. A different cap with less resistance (i.e. more ideal, "better") may actually mistune the crossover and worsen the overall sound.
