Re: Legacy Focus 20/20 speakers

Hi!
Mine are also simple (not 20/20). I have to say I bought them new without auditioning, when I knew almost nothing about hi fi (1999). They were sort of my childhood's dream and when they arrived, I placed them in a small room and powered with all-Legacy amps: pre-steradian-power. That was a nightmare with bloated stage.
I "treated" the room, bought a really good (and powerfull) amplifier, bought a very good pre and inch by inch learned how to set the speakers right. Now they sing.
Their big bass is also not a problem, once you learn how to tame it with switches and proper placement.
Steradian, IMHO, is not a very clever machine. It doesn't even have a zero point for reference, also it shifts the stage up front in my room.
Serge.
p.s. WHAT I DON'T LIKE is theit crappy binding posts' plates that connect "monitor" and "subwoofer" parts of the xover and their shamefull owners manual (maybe it is different now)
