Hi,
To my ears the tone was very good. Voices were clear and natural and instruments sounded good. The bass was accurate and clear. Again, these were in a 21 x 18 room with vaulted ceiling. I would expect more bass weight in a smaller room. I didn't feel the need for a sub and was considering them in a downsizing move.
Granted the Venus and FJ Om have more weight but at 4 to 5 times the cost.
What grabs me about the Duevel line is how well they intergrate. You hear layers of sound and not the drivers.
