I purchased my Genesis G-928 bipolar sub just weeks before the old Genesis company filed for bankruptcy, and the new company would not honor the original warranty. Six months later the amp died, and my repair shop contacted Genesis, who indicated they no longer used that amp in the sub, but could get me their new amp for a whopping $1700. Yeah, right - more than I paid for the sub newWhat I am looking for is a cheap but suitable replacement amp. The sub uses two 12 inch woofers, I believe they are 4 ohms each. If I run both woofers off a mono amp, that would make an effective load of 2 ohms, correct? Or should I use a stereo amp, one channel for each woofer? Or am I just better off getting a new sub? Rest assured, it won't be a Genesis...
Thanks!
