I've only heard the E-IVs of the newer vintage(post Peter) & even these are 15-18 years old. I had tube power on the E-IVs & thought the setup sounded very good. Sweet & clean mids & highs, good bass, imaging & soundstage all very good...particularly for what they cost me.They were side-lined by a near perfect pair of Type A's.
