Re: foam surround repair in southeast?

Bob has sold his Middlebrook Pike location and has moved up to Central Avenue Pike where he is now working in semi-retirement. His prices tend to be expensive. He convinced a friend with a pair of AR-28 speakers (twin 8" drivers in each) to replace the damaged speakers with new ones instead of repairing the old ones. The speakers never sounded very good after that, and the price for the new drivers was over $200. Similarly, Bob attempted to sell me a new 4" full-range driver for my KLH 21 table radio instead of repairing the old one. That would have cost me $75 (!) and I decided not to do it. In the end, I found a replacement 4" driver in a non-functioning KLH radio. It works great.

While I never had a speaker actually *repaired* by Advanced, I wasn't impressed with the advice I received, or the quality/appropriateness of the replacement speakers Bob sells.

Can you provide info on the local audio club in Knoxville? Didn't know there was one ..
