There are several things that I can think of that went wrong, but it's most likely that a driver was blown in the process. If you're hearing a muffling of the midrange, then I suspect that the midrange dome was damaged in some way. You can put your ear to the baffle and move about listening for which of the four drivers up topside are working and which aren't.In the meantime, I recommend the Dahlquist Yahoo! Group (linked below). There are several DQ-10 enthusiasts there who have rebuilt theirs and should be able to offer good advice. There's also a crossover schematic in the files section in addition to other information.
