"There is nothing about the Pioneer receiver that would cause problems with 901 speakers assuming you have a 901 active equalizer, and you would need that irrespective of the receiver being used."you need some way to insert that eq into the circuit and that's usually done via ana tape monitor/external processor loop or between the preamp and main amp.
Unless one of those two possibilities exist, he's boned.
