You haven't specified the size of your room ...

A mate of mine has MGIIIs (the original 3-way) in a room which I think is far too small for them. It must be only about 11 or 12' wide - so his Maggies are jammed up against the side walls.

Yes, they sound great but I suspect he'd actually get a better listening experience from the smaller Maggies. My own listening room is 27' x 17', so my IIIas fit this really well. :-))

BTW, you can easily convert the III into a IIIa ... it's simply a XO change.

Beware of delaminated wires, as other your posters have already warned. You really need to strip off the socks and have a good look, before you buy.
