hi brf,
the bam was never really designed to be used between the pre and amp because it has a capacitive input. it sounds best imho, hooked prior to a line output stage of a pre, either between a cdp and pre into the cd input or in a tape loop. magic occurs when the pre is tube so the bam's output is buffered by the tube line output stage of the pre.
