Your best course is to roundover the front edges...

...of the speaker baffle. If you have access to one, use a 1" round over bit. If not, a 3/4" is better than nothing. Whatever you do, don't leave a raised edge on the cabinet. That will exacerbate any diffraction effects from the tweeter.
