I have the 4jrs (version 1) and have heard briefly the SRs. I love the 4jrs and if I upgrade it will likely have to be way up the chain in the VSA line our out to a much more expensive speaker altogether. Right now it is not a burning issue as I greatly enjoy the performance I am getting. The 4SR is also very big in comparison and would not likely work in my room. I auditioned many speakers and as soon as I heard the 4jrs I was done - exactly what I was looking for. I have ended up pairing with a good tubed integrated amp and source and I am off to the races. You should try to pair with well matched cables, shotgun bi-wire is the convention but I have also heard that audience with a jumper works well. Also fill with lead shot. Placement is also critical. If you get it all dialed in you will be a happy camper. Good luck.
