Re: Help!- Setting up Dynaco A25's

These are known as 5-way binding posts. Don't know if there is an "official" description of the five options but I assume them to be -

1. wrap bare wire around post and tighten nut/cap to secure.

2. insert wire through hole in post and secure with nut/cap.

3. insert spade lug around post and secure with nut/cap.

4. remove nut/cap, slide closed lug over post, secure with nut/cap.

5. install banana plug (single or dual) on speaker wire and insert into end of nut/cap.

As realistico warns, be sure to connect + to + and - to - between amp and speaker. This can be aided by something called a trace in the twin-lead wire. There will be different colors (usually red and white) in material that surrounds the wire, OR a ridge on the outside casing for the wire (called a trace) over one of the wire pair, OR a thread with one of the wire pair. There will be something to allow you to identify the same individual wire at both ends without physically tracing it along it's length.

Good luck and enjoy.
