Re: help! blew my PSB 6T!

Not sure if this applies but ... I had the 4Ts in use with a NAD c370 and then added a Bottlehead Foreplay preamp. In my experience, the midrange drivers came apart (blew) with both those configuration. Nothing ripped, just the cone separated from the driver. It happened 4 or more times. At first, I would get new drivers from my dealer, but they would separate, too. Finally, I started fixing them myself with some super-strength epoxy (E6000 I think it was called). Never had a problem again. Frankly, I think the glue is bad that PSB used on that woofer (or another nearby material is making it degrade). (Or maybe it was something in my listening environment.)Good speaker--bad glue. If yours is just separated, try fixing it yourself. It will be better in the long run, so don't get neurotic that it's defective since you fixed it yourself. Just be careful not to get clue all over the cone. Good luck.
Tom
