A simple check

before you do anything is to look at the silver connectors on the back - make sure that the silver biwiring post is making full contact. If you are currently biwiring this advice is of no help - but if you are single wiring then that little wire is what I would check first.

One of my AN J's had this loosely attached and my tweeter would intermittantly cut-out - tightened that and it's been fine since.

Audio Note keeps a record of all drivers and they can get an identical pair match with your other speaker - so it sould not be necessary to replace both tweeters in this worst case scenario. Could be a cap and on entry level Audio Note is not expensive.
