Agree with the headphones, I use Koss ESP9b electrostatics and they knockoff most of the best speakers out there. For a speaker try the A/D/S/ L-300 or 400 series, well with the price range. On a cheap, look for a set of Radio Shack Minius 7s, early type acoustic suspensions.
