Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

I hope to see some of the Chicago Audio Society folks on Saturday

Hopefully, some of the Chicago Audio Society folks will stop by the Hyatt in Schaumburg on Saturday. Dave Ellis' setup was sounding great last night. Phil Bamberg is going to be demonstrating my Series 5's in fully active digital crossover mode along with a massive amp from AV123, their CD2 which reminds many people of an MBL. Jim Salk is also going to be showing off some of the best woodworking on the planet. And there will be some great music and conversation with audio enthusiasts from around the country.

Plus, there will be lots of cool DIY designs by people like Scott Quick, etc. If you have never heard any of the manufacturers above or if you have ever wondered how DIY compares to your expensive commercial speakers, you are in for a treat. Even if you hear something you don't like, you can jump on-line and slam it from a position of first hand experience. That would put you ahead of 95% of the guys who slam things without ever hearing them! I guarantee a great time for everyone!

The Hyatt is a really nice hotel with free parking and easy access to the facility. I hope we get enough support to make this the first of many Chicago Audio fests!

Cheers,

Jack
