I have owned the Dyn 82s for 3 years now and am very happy with them. I recently got the 52se for demo at home and found them to be more refined than the 82s. Mids (vocals, piano etc) were more fleshed out. You could here voice/instrument inflections with more clarity. It was more detailed in the midrange while the 82s sound a bit vieled in comparison. The treble was more smoother and more refined. The bass is good, but in my large room (about 400 sq ft), it was not delivering the punch which you get from say a kick drum. The 82s on the other hand have good quantity of bass though they could be more detailed. They will however boom in a small room muddying the sound a bit. They require a lot of space behind and besides them. They also require a lot of current to drive those woofers. Further, a good set of speaker cables will bring out the best in them.
Which amp do you have and how big is your room?
Why don't you check out the Dyn 72SEs. I believe they are out. You could have the best of both worlds. Not heard other speakers in depth to do a fair comparison.
Hope this helps.
