There is a new KEF line, the 'iQ' series. The old 'Q Compact' is now the 'iQ1', retails for $300pr. I heard a pair in my system the other day - they are outstanding for the money. In the price range they would easily be my first choice for a small-room speaker. The cabinet work and driver/finish quality is fantastic in a speaker at that price. Wonderful midrange, open, spacious sound, nice imaging. They're not a pair of VR-1's, but for a third the price it's amazing how similar they are.If you want to save some bucks I saw some place in New York selling the older version 'Q Compact' for $109 a pair!!! I can't remember their name, but I wrote down the number, it's 845-729-1840.
