It looks like a difficult decision for you, about the only thing these four speakers have in common is their MSRP.I have a heavy bias towards the Merlins since I've been using a pair of VSM-MX speakers for two months. I still enjoy listening to other speakers and systems of friends who share this hobby or are in the business, but I've never heard any speaker that comes close to reproducing music as truthfully as my Merlins.
I'm in no position to tell you which speaker you should purchase, but I would recommend you take your research with the Merlins one step further. As owners of Merlin speakers we have a resource in Bobby Palkovic, the speaker’s designer, in helping us tune our speakers/systems. As a perspective customer I would suggest you take a few minutes to contact him by phone. He's direct and will explain what the speakers are capable of and whether they would be a good fit for you. Either way you will more than likely narrow your list with one phone call.
