Re: Maybe you have a point but...

I had owned Dynaudio speakers for about 5 years so I know how they sound. I tell you also that flat frequency response is not all there is to making a speaker sound good. Many companies obsess on this and ignore other factors (not saying necessarily that Dynaudio does). In addition to owning two different pairs I have heard the Evidence and Temptation as well as the C2 and C4. I loved the Evidence and Temptation, the C2 and C4 were also quite effective. Then I heard the new Contours...BORING! Sure they are neutral but they are also completely dead and lifeless sounding. I was really disappointed after hearing how good all their other newer models sound I even had so high expectations that I went to their room first (only a few people were there which is always a bad sign...in the past they played to a packed room). Both my girlfriend and I were like "where's the music?" Sorry, I don't mean to trash your choice or anything but I found them not be dynamic at all (not the same as playing loud). No "jump" factor. This also ultimately why I sold my Contour 1.8s. I loved the neutrality but I had to turn them up to get a natural balance to the sound. This is a problem for most dynamic speakers I have heard (there are notable exceptions and usually of the high efficiency kind).
