Hm.. is this a slam on the speaker company, because, there are many variables that can invoke bad sound in a speaker. I have heard both the 2.4, and 6 in a number of different instances, and in the wrong setting (rooms needing treatments), they can be a bit bright, but they both have very wonderful midranges.
I would suspect, these are in a poor setting at the dealer you went to. Could be problems in electronics, something not wired correctly, a number of things could be wrong. They might have there power circuits overloaded with gear, who knows.
In fact, the 6 is one of the best speakers of it's time. I would not print such negativity unless your sure of what your saying.
Thiel is a very upstanding company. Few manufacturers in the world put the personal work into their product that Thiel does. Anyone that has dealt enough with this company, knows they stand for quality.
